Prerequisites for MBA Admission.

www.asiapacific.eduThe MBA course in India fascinates many aspirants, so the number of Management schools offering Masters Degree and Postgraduate diploma (PGDM) in business administration has also expanded. The admissions process for a MBA program varies from b-school to school, although there are some similarities among all of them.
Prerequisites for admission into an MBA program generally include a bachelor’s degree in business administration from an accredited university or college. Most MBA programs do not require a specific undergraduate major. In fact, many programs prefer some diversity in that regard. However, a bachelor’s degree in business can be helpful when prerequisite courses are required.

MBA programs also have course prerequisite requirements to ensure that students possess general knowledge in business disciplines. However, it is not a necessary requirement for all the applicants. Applicants, those who did not take business as major in undergrad will have to take these prerequisites. This incorporates topics related to management, finance, marketing, economics, statistics and mathematics.
An admissions test is a common requirement for MBA programs. The Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) is by far the most common exam. A significant number of schools select the applicants according to the Graduate Records Examination (GRE) test. Whichever test it may be, careful and devoted preparation must be required to get a competitive score. It is important to spend enough time to properly prepare for any MBA entrance exam.
Many MBA programs recommend or even require a certain number of years of work experience. Generally, this is stated as post-MBA college, full-time work experience. Some programs even specify that experience should be increasing in responsibility or managerial in nature. Even though work experience is not explicitly required, it is an advantage to the applicant over others. Once you have met the pre-MBA requirements, then you are ready to apply to an MBA program.
