Things You MUST know as a Management Student!!

http://www.asiapacific.edu/

Generally, I have seen and observed that MBA aspirants whenever appearing for any counseling or GD/PI sessions are concerned (would ask query) about the placements of the b school which is fair but the job is incomplete. Besides placement there are other factors that are equally important from the student’s point of view which generally is lacking during the interactions. Moreover, MBA is all about learning the skills that are needed to grow any business or idea to its heights not a job consultant which/who will guarantee job placements. Placement is a secondary important aspect. I have compiled all the necessary information from various past research publications that a student should seek in order to assess any b schools across NCR or within the country.

Placement Activities done by the b school
Past Placement Records of the b school
Sectors in which placement has been done
Companies those recruited the students

Important factors which Students consider while selecting B- schools.

http://www.asiapacific.edu/
MBA is a standout amongst the most widely recognized profession decisions amongst the young in India today. This is simply in light of the advantages that the course offers. There are more several institutes the whole way across NCR that offers full time private MBA. Distance learning MBA, online MBA and part time MBAs are additionally picking up force. With the developing needs of the business for world class managers, the institutes offering MBAs has likewise gone up in the last few a long time. Thus it is very important from the institute point of view to know what are the important factors that student considers before selecting a B school. Also from student perspective, like what are the factors they need to consider or what are the query/doubts/information they need to have before taking admissions. What I have realized from my own experience as a counselor/faculty and also well supported from past studies that there are eight important factors which can affect institute selection decisions namely,

·        Past Placement record of the college,
·        extra co-curricular activities related factors (Industrial visit, seminar, tour and picnic, sports activities, cultural activities)
·        infrastructure of the institute (hostel, campus, library, lab, technology etc),
·        student related factors (social status, friend circle etc)
·        faculty related factors (education background, experience, popularity, knowledge, research contribution)
·        academics related factors (specialization, courses offered, collaboration, guest lectures, past results, practical knowledge)
·        advertisement related factors (Media visibility, Rankings, publications in journal and magazines)
·        & other factors (admission process, reputation, guidance, social life, safety and security, study/fun atmosphere, reservation)

What it takes to be successful in whatever you do after completing MBA.

http://www.asiapacific.edu/
business school in delhi
Who does not want to be successful? We all do. We all strive hard to be successful and happy thereafter. And the fact that challenges and competition is not unobvious is also true. There is competition around us in each sphere and walk of life. But why is it that only some of us are able to embrace success and some are just left behind in the race. To have a clinch over success and fame graduates now a days are considering a business degree to be essential to make them equipped with the skills and knowledge which the competition tight corporate world desires. This thought of pursuing a business degree is indeed a smart step but apart from the books and lectures students attend to, there are certain other aspects of a student’s personality that needs to be focused upon. Off course the role of faculty and mentors during the two years of study is inevitable but one cannot deny the importance of efforts of a candidate himself and how effectively does he pick up good changes in him/her persona. Following are certain aspects of thinking and personality development that need to be strengthened in order to be successful after a student completes MBA course

1)      Humanity first: Students often have a misnomer that after MBA he/she is skilled enough to grab success at any cost. And that since he/she has become a master in business administration it is okay to be going beyond any boundary to reap targets and reach maximum profit figures for his/her company. Whereas if we look around us for a moment we will be able to see many professionals, CEOs, companies and corporations who have had adopted wrong means and methods to achieve success. All that can be said is if humanitarian and ethical grounds are taken parallel in consideration by our new generation of business professionals while doing business or a job, then there will be more transparency, belief and a culture of trust prevailing in the investors and other stake holders of the corporation and that will ultimately lead to more profits instead of applying short term tricks to befool stake holders and getting some short term raises and promotions as a professional.

2)      CSR centric policy making: Ever since CSR spending has become mandatory especially after the rolling out of the new Indian Companies Act 2013, it is truly a buzzword and a hot cake sort of a discussion topic. That too CSR activities need to be ongoing instead of a once in a while affair. Hence, the need of the hour is to take societal objectives almost parallel in each function and aspect of business that the new managers would be asked to handle.

But how is all the above discussion going to be happening overnight when the students have not developed their thinking in the same way while they were getting trained for the last two years of their academic life in a b-school? So, the key to open this lock is that students should always learn to manage business aspects in a way that there is possibility of maximum benefit to the society at large. Because whatever entrepreneurial activity the students are going to do in future, its success will surely depend on how beneficial is it for the masses at large. To testify the same, almost all of the new startups including endless entrepreneurial creativity are successful because they addressed the issues of the public at large and hence became successful.

Asia Pacific Institute of Management is a leading name in the aura of top b-schools in India. At Asia Pacific Institute of Management, we strive hard to make the students more and more sensitive towards social and societal issues and also entrepreneurship while being taught and mentored is done in a way that’s students realize and identify the real need of the hour of public at large and then articulate some entrepreneurial solutions to those issues.

Importance of internship and placement

http://www.asiapacific.edu/
MBA College

With many students and graduates about to start their summer internships, it’s very important to first understand the difference between internship and placement. The term "internship" is usually used by city firms such as accountants, investment banks and management consultancies. An "internship" usually last from a week to 12 weeks and may involve some travel. "Internships" are usually offered to students and graduates outside of university term time (placements are usually held during university term time). "Internships" are usually focused on learning almost as much as working. The term "placement" is usually used to refer to long or extended periods of internship held by students during a degree course that has been specifically designed to accommodate a specific time period "in industry". Degree courses with a vocational element are becoming increasingly popular and consequently more and more employers are now offering "placements", including accountancy firms. Both placements and internships are great features for one’s curriculum vitae. In fact, any experience of working within an organization in the industry a person wish to work in is incredibly worthwhile and is a great indicator that he/she has career motivation and strong commercial awareness

The important thing about work placements is that they provide an opportunity to get to grips with working - meeting deadlines and working in a team. While a placement may enhance one’s knowledge and help with course, it can also help to find out more about a job or industry, leading to more informed decisions upon graduation. Work placements and internships give the opportunity to develop relevant skills, knowledge and experience while getting firsthand experience of life in a real working environment.
