Reasons to do an MBA.

An MBA or a Master of Business Administration is a post graduate programme where the students can learn the requisite knowledge and skills to fit into a business community. So, the basic and most common question is ‘why MBA’? Or is it worthwhile to pursue such a study programme despite of the fact that it is too expensive to bear?

One common reason to do an MBA programme is that the average salary for an MBA graduate is considerably higher than that of an employee with a regular master qualification. Statistically, it has been established that the salary paid to an individual with an MBA degree is significantly higher than those with other degrees.
Graduates of an MBA programme, due to their qualification, can obtain and hold a higher level in management position in any reputed industry, or even they can start and operate their own business through their acquired skills and knowledge.
An MBA program provides a more diverse and wider field for graduates to expand in. Many areas are covered in this program such as Human Resource, IT, Statistics, Economics and Finance. All these areas qualify an MBA graduate to pursue a career in multiple areas in private as well as public sectors.
Business schools provides a great opportunity to the graduate students to meet new people including recruiters, key note speakers, Business personal etc. These networking activities are clearly beneficial for the students in achieving their goals in future.

Criteria for selecting a Quality MBA Program.

www.asiapacific.edu
If one has decided to earn an MBA degree, then it is all the more important to look for a high quality program with solid business education, valuable academic experience and impressive professional credentials.
The most important factor to search for is the MBA program that is accredited by respected business organizations. These organizational bodies judge the institutes by its quality of academic standards. The assessment criteria depend on the Teaching-learning and Evaluation process of an Institute. Some other criteria such as facility of Research, Infrastructure and Learning Resources, Student Support and Progression are also very important to asses an Institute. There are many business schools and colleges in India offering two years of MBA or PGDM programs accredited by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education), UGC (University Grants Commission), and NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council).
Another important factor to look for is that the MBA institute has esteemed faculty members who are experienced, educated and innovative. Faculty members are usually required to have a professional work experience in an area relevant to business and a specialization or expertise in the course they are instructing. Once you find a program that you are interested in, spend some time researching the educational and professional backgrounds of faculty members.

Each year various reputable publications, websites release the ranking of the business schools base on the fact that how academic institutions stack up against one another in terms of faculty, instruction, reputation and student mix.  A higher-ranked business school may be more likely to provide you with a quality education than one that is not ranked at all.
